Isenberg Reacts: Impact Wrestling “What is The Point of GFW?”

Continuing Matt and Ethan

Matt-hardyWith another good outing last week, Matt and EC3 will continue their feud for the coveted TNA World Heavyweight Championship. Full Metal Mayhem was intense, with some really good spots and physicality at its best. Tonight needed to be about refueling the fire, adding some gas onto an already lit log.

I think Matt and EC3 can work another month or two for the championship because Matt is still the best option to contend. One and done was not what TNA should have done and they have so much more they can get out of it. I want “dark”Matt, a version of him that we saw in WWE when he feuded with his brother. His raw emotions, or lack thereof, was on point. Maybe this could be another great way for him to reinvent himself.

Much like Sting or Jeff Hardy’s dark personas, this could be something that scares EC3 and makes him vulnerable. Just a thought, but Matt and EC3 is the right choice right now. Also, this should be the main event of the night. That title needs to have more importance to it. Build a show around them, not GFW guys.

PJ Black in King of the Mountain Champion

PJ Black represents GFW and picks up the title the main event. He defeats Eric Young, Lashley, Chris Mordetzky and  Robbie E in a fun and entertaining match. Go back and watch it. Some of these talents could have had such a bigger impact in WWE.

What is the point of GFW in TNA? Are they going to take over? Are they going to absorb TNA and Jeff Jarrett will control it again? I guess time will tell, but I am very skeptical for having these core guys every single week in the company. TNA never had an issue with good talent. They have always had talent on the roster. They have never had a consistent direction and the right people backstage.
