WZ Mailbag: Why Everyone Loves the John Cena Open Challenge, WWE’s Biggest Competition, Destroying Vehicles, Royal Rumble Streak Continuing?

Don’t you think it is maybe kind of obvious that Rusev will win the 2016, WWE Royal Rumble Match. Let’s face it, when Batista won the 2014, WWE Royal Rumble Match, the last person he eliminated was Roman Reigns. However when Roman Reigns won the 2015, WWE Royal Rumble Match, the last person he eliminated was Rusev. Maybe we can assume that Rusev might be able to win the 2016, WWE Royal Rumble. Right?

There is an obvious trend here but I am doubtful that it will continue with Rusev considering the way he has been booked lately. Rusev definitely has the potential to be a top calibre star, but not in the position he is in now. If WWE Creative gives him something better to work with then the trend could possibly continue – despite how silly it looks on paper.

With how popular the Money in the Bank has become, do you see WWE trying to use it for other titles like the Tag Team Championship or the Divas Title. Would it work and be popular if they did this?

It doesn’t work with any other title because, frankly, nobody cares about the other titles as much as they do about the WWE Championship. There just wouldn’t be as much interest, nobody wants to see someone chase the IC Title for up to a year – especially not the Divas Title. Many say the MITB concept is old and lacks energy but I disagree, the WWE should keep it because of the endless possibilities it brings.

With John Cena’s us open challenge being such a big hit do you think they when he finally drops the belt will they continue to keep the open challenge a regular thing or have it go back to a feud over the belt? I personally hope they keep the open challenge it makes a more interesting story line and gives them a chance to make surprise debuts.

I would love to see them continue the open challenges, it gives a lot of Superstars an opportunity to shine, and frankly, the open challenge has been the best part of Raw these past few months. The only problem that bothers me is that you know the challenger has basically zero chance of winning the title, but I can overlook that if it means having matches like Cesaro and John Cena have had these past two weeks.
