Comparing the Booking Decisions of Brock Lesnar and Seth Rollins: How Does It Get Fixed?

seth rollinsI recently wrote an article for CSRWrestling.com about the booking decisions of Brock Lesnar and Seth Rollins. Below are a few pieces of my opinion on how WWE has fumbled the booking of Seth Rollins immediately after having Brock Lesnar become the most dominant champion in recent memory.

“With such a dominant champion, one who did not rely on anyone else, Brock Lesnar has changed the landscape for world champions in the WWE. WWE went from one extreme to the other, booking a dominant champion and then giving the strap to a guy who has everyone else helping him. How does this benefit Seth Rollins? Will he become a guy like CM Punk when he won his first world championship? Somewhat irrelevant? I sure hope not, but there needs to come a moment when WWE realizes that sometimes a heel needs to prove his worth by himself.”

“I like to compare Seth Rollins to Edge. When Edge was champion, multiple times, he would have Zack Ryder and Curt Hawkins helping him out (See Armageddon 2007) and the “Authority” figure of Vickie Guerrero always saying the day. Instead of a tag team and a General Manager, Seth Rollins has two awful backstage figures and a “Director of Operations” that needs to put his mask on and return his slacks to Sears. The big difference was that Edge did EVERYTHING else before becoming world champion. Seth Rollins has been great, but he is still very young through the eyes of most of the WWE Universe.”
