EC3 and Spud Face to Face
Spud says this has to end and they have to fight. Carter says he is a little boy and Carter says he is undefeated. Spud yells at him to shut his mouth. Spud says he knows EC3 is undefeated because he helped him and was there. Spud wants to end his streak. Carter says he has to give him something he wants. Carter says when he beats Spud, he gets to shave his head. Spud says for EC3 to put his hair on the line also. He accepts the challenge and says that the bad guys win.
Spud says Carter used to tell him he was fierce and he was a gazelle. Spud says he is a man and he is going to end his streak and shave his head bald.
Rockstar Spud just knows what to say and how to say it. The guy has come so far since last year when I was complaining about him. This was a great segment and the crowd loved it. EC3 looks like a heel. Spud grew a pair and has finally reached a new level. There is no way he wins, right? Either way, this was compelling and intriguing. Finally, it is set.
Knockouts Championship Match
Taryn comes out firing with some clotheslines and tries to take her down. Kong throws her around the ring, by her blonde locks. She hits a body slam for a two count. With more kicks and boots to Taryn’s throat, Kong gets disqualified. She throws Taryn into the steel steps and then Terrell is saved by Gail Kim. Awesome Kong pushes Kim and she continues to fight back.
The match ends pretty quickly and without much drama. I wonder how TNA can build multiple championship matches/storylines/rematches with Kong. There is just not enough believable talent and is going to be difficult for the writers. Taryn Terrell is really good. She could be one of the most improved and consistent women wrestlers in wrestling. This just did not do much for me tonight.
