Then again, that’s the crowd ROH appeals to. That crowd loves matches like this. But that crowd is never going to appreciably grow, and hasn’t.
I liked ODB-Maria. The pretty girl getting her ass kicked by the not-so-pretty girl provides symbolism a wrestling audience should buy into.
I liked Alberto El Patron vs Jay Lethal. But Lethal’s finisher takes too long to set up. Nobody should fall for it. How could you not see it coming? The irony is, it ends with a Diamond Cutter/Ace Crusher/Stone Cold Stunner/whatever, a move with huge credibility because it’s sudden and brief.
Alberto is legit big-time. An island of true professionalism in a sea of spot monkeys. Lots of guys in ROH are good. He’s just better.
Stop and think: Going through a table actually BREAKS YOUR FALL.
Why do a total fluke finish to end a main event that had zero heat?
Kevin Kelly and Steve Corino are the best announce team in pro wrestling. Mostly because they’re allowed to announce ROH like it’s pro wrestling.
Bonus essay question: Most ROH wrestlers look like their fans. Discuss.
Anyway, I enjoyed it. ROH got my money. That’s what counts most.
