DARREN YOUNG
Once referred to as the “Black John Cena”, Darren Young has been cleared to compete and will be returning to the ring soon. So… why not bring him back as a babyface and throw him on Team Cena?
I believe Young has a lot to offer the WWE that we’ve not seen yet. He’s a good athlete that actually has a decent amount of charisma, but struggled to find his place in the first season of NXT, and was forgettable during the reign of the Nexus. He’s been lumped into comedy gimmicks and tag teams that didn’t work out, but now that he’s back I think they should give him a real chance at a mid-card singles run, and see what comes from it.
Since publicly coming out as a homosexual, I would imagine that would reflect positively in his freedom to be himself, and to develop the kind of character that best works for him. Whether he or WWE wants to use that aspect of his life as a “gimmick” is up to them, but regardless, I’d like to see D-Young brought back as a member of Team Cena and given a proper push.
