#3 – Tyson Kidd
Tyson has totally reinvented himself down in NXT. He’s a two-time WWE tag team champion, but he what’s he done in the last several years? Nothing. In NXT he’s become a great heel character, who adds legitimacy to the promotion by being a legitimate WWE Superstar with years of experience. As I type this I’m watching the NXT Takeover pre-show, and Kidd is doing some of the best promo work of his life in a sit-down interview with Breeze, Neville and Zayn.
Tyson Kidd would make a great NXT Champion, and I’m looking forward to seeing how tonight’s title match turns out.
#2 – Adrian Neville
Neville is the man. He’s the NXT Champion, and has been since the promotion made its debut on the WWE Network. He’s not a phenomenal talker, but he’s also not terrible. The current title program has been carried vocally by his three competitors, but in terms of in-ring work, Neville is second to none. John Cena is high on him. Triple H is high on him. The WWE Universe is now high on him after the appearance on Monday Night Raw this week. It’s just a matter of time…
#1 – Sami Zayn
Sami Zayn is the best of NXT. Pure and simple. Listen to the way the fans react to him each and every week. He’s got the underdog reaction without actually being an underdog. He has more experience in the ring, working all around the world, than anybody on the NXT roster and most of the WWE main roster. The “Ole!” chant carried over from the indies = built-in success with the WWE Universe. He’s a great talker, a great wrestler, and would make a phenomenal NXT Champion that could carry the brand on every level.
