Wrestlezone Top 10: Best NXT Superstars of the WWE Network Era; Count-Down to NXT Takeover, Plus Rank Your Favorites

#9 – Kalisto

The former Samuray del Sol has done nothing but impress over the course of his career, and at only 27-years-old has worked all over North America. He made his NXT debut earlier this year as the masked lucha star Kalisto, with a look very similar to the legendary Japanese wrestler Ultimo Dragon.

As WWE looks to beef up their Network sales internationally, Kalisto should prove a valuable asset in the Mexican market. With the in-ring return of Rey Mysterio looking more unlikely by the week, and the Sin Cara name more or less tarnished by a poor run from Luis Urive, Kalisto could be the next big lucha sensation to make it big on the main roster. Masks and t-shirt sales for similar stars have proven substantial over the years, especially with the younger demographic, so I expect we’ll start to see the high flying Superstar make his mark on the WWE Universe soon.
