Chris Jericho defeated Luke Harper
This was a good old fashioned fight. Jericho and Harper slug back and forth to one another until Jericho is able to hit a kick to the back of his head. Harper catches Jericho and hits a scoop slam for a two count. Jericho catches him with a boot and goes up top to hit a cross body.
Harper hits a massive boot to Jericho, followed by a powerbomb. Jericho gets caught and Harper uses his brute strength to counter. Jericho locks in Walls of Jericho and Rowan gets a dropkick from the top rope. Harper tries a clothesline and Jericho rolls him up for the win. The Uso’s come out and make the save.
Isn’t it crazy to see how good Jericho is, months out of the ring? He always comes back and always puts on a great showing. I really enjoyed this match and the simple addition of Jimmy and Jey at the end reminds the fans of the Tag Team Championship match on Sunday. I expect both matches to be excellent. Jericho/Wyatt needs to continue after Sunday. They have only scratched the surface.
Lana and Zeb Make Last Statements
USA vs. Russia. Lana vs. Zeb. Jack Swagger vs. Rusev. I have been a huge fan of this feud ever since the organic and natural reaction gave Swagger a much needed change. There is no doubt that both of these guys can wrestle, but I am interested to see how they are going to be booked inside the ring.
You cannot have a simple Rusev squash, but can Rusev afford to lose? Do we want to see this continue after Battleground? I want to, but I am not sure WWE can make 1-2 more months of interesting promos and storylines for these guys without being repetitive. Either way, Smackdown gave us the final words that we needed. Flags fly high and both claim their fate on Sunday.
