The latest column talks about WWE and their reaction to Emma allegedly stealing from Walmart. The following is an excerpt:
WWE takes its slop and alleged shoplifting seriously.
Stephanie McMahon is following in Vince McMahon's footsteps. The No. 1 antagonist, who is over-the-top with heel antics.
Swimming for her life in a kiddy pool full of slop while pulling referees in with her. It's crackerjack material in the WWE production meeting — even when she was doing the bad dancing to John Cena's theme music last week. It all reminds me of Vinnie Mac.
Truth be told, I don't mind it. I have to admit: I laugh at Stephanie's acting. She also gets easier on the eyes. On my show on TribLIVE Radio, I call her Stephanie “Fine Wine” McMahon because she gets better with age.
The problem is that Vince could hold up his end of the feud and pay off in the ring. After months of conflict with whatever talent he was feuding, he could give the people what they want — to see him take a beating.
Stephanie can't do that. All she can do is make Seth Rollins, Kane or Randy Orton fight her battles for her. It doesn't matter how you dress it, this makes those guys seem like gofers.
The other problem is we're seeing too much of Stephanie and her husband, Triple H. I don't want them to go away, but I don't want them in half the segments on a three-hour show.
While Stephanie makes Connecticut proud, she and the company weren't happy with one of their talents last week.
WWE fired and rehired WWE Diva Emma last week in a matter of hours after she was booked for larceny of an iPod case at a Walmart in Connecticut, according to the Hartford (Conn.) Courant.
The Hartford Courant also reported that her attorney, Hubert Santos, said it was a misunderstanding with the self-checkout system. I believe the attorney. But when you end up on the news as a WWE performer allegedly shoplifting from Walmart in Vince McMahon's home state, well, I'm afraid I've got some bad news.
