Daniel Bryan: Another Step Down
I'm not pulling any punches this week.
Last week I called out the Daniel Bryan-Kane story, and took a completely fair and valid shot at the world champ's lack of sizzle on the microphone. I gave Bryan a step down – because THAT'S WHAT IT WAS – and you would have thought I stabbed a Make-a-Wish kid. That's the problem with making these indie darlings (as much as I love Bryan as a WRESTLER) into golden cows; you lose the ability to criticize without becoming a "hater".
Now, I dare any of you to watch the backstage "brawl" between Kane, Bryan and Brie Bella from RAW this past week, and tell me the champ came away looking better – or even the same! – as he did the week prior. The whole segment was awful. This is a guy who worked TWO main event matches at WrestleMania and walked away with the strap. Now he's running – actually RUNNING – from a guy in a mask. This is same guy he went to "anger management" classes and hugged-it-out with just a year ago. Daniel, if the wife is really a problem, leave her on the tour bus! She hasn't been consistently involved in her new husband's story for months. Why now?
Just in case you missed Raw, Main Event, and will miss Smackdown this week, and on the off chance you absolutely hate yourself, here's a video of Brie Bella and the worst fake screaming I've ever heard in my life. That kid from "Troll 2" did a better job. (Oh my goooooood!!)
