Title This: 2014 WWE Extreme Rules Reaction

Bray Wyatt defeated John Cena inside a Steel Cage

wwe extreme rulesHighlights of the match:

Bray Wyatt directing the crowd to sing "the whole world" shows you that he cares about the little things. Rowan runs himself into the cage and knocks out Cena. The pace was very slow and was more about character development. John Cena hits a powerbomb, lifting Bray from the rope. The cage door gets slammed onto Cena by the other members of the Wyatt Family.

Rowan grabs Cena on his shoulders while he is trying to leave the cage. Creative ideas continues during this night. I enjoyed how it seemed that Cena was a prisoner in his own world. His world is a WWE ring and it is somewhere that he did not want to be. Harper gets in the ring and Cena tries to escape again. Wyatt hits a release suplex and a splash onto his chest. Cena locks in an STF before escaping the cage. Cena hits an AA from the top rope.

The lights go out and a child is stopping Cena from escaping. He sings the song with a voice dubbing.

One word: Creepy.

Reaction:

The match was good, but not great. I really wanted to see more involved with the destruction of the cage. Cena needed to reach another level of intensity, but WWE put too much emphasis on Cena trying to escape the cage. All he needed to do was pin Wyatt or make him tap. I think the build of the match was better than the actual match itself.

It was not a bad match, but it just lacked something. The ending was the best part. Why? It was DIFFERENT. They are knocking the storyline out of the park with a child costing him the match. Say what you want about the match, but the saving grace was the child outside of the cage singing to John.

Score: 7/10
