30 Years of WrestleMania: Wrestlezone’s Top 10 Superstars to Headline the Showcase of the Immortals

#5 – The Rock

The RockOn the flip side of that coin is The Rock. Dwayne didn't exactly stick around for as long as John Cena, but there's no arguing that he was one of the two biggest names in the most popular period in the history of pro wrestling. In terms of pop culture icon, he gives Hulk Hogan a run for his money. His drawing power is unparalleled, both then and now. The Rock is, without a doubt, the most charismatic and electrifying name in the history of WrestleMania.

#4 – "Stone Cold" Steve Austin

And then there's the Texas Rattlesnake. I had mentioned that Dwayne was one of TWO stars of the most popular era in wrestling. These two go hand-in-hand. When you mention one, you have to mention the other. It was like having two Michael Jordan's on the same All-Star team. Hell, three of their WrestleMania matches were against each other, and they were all great.

I had to think long and hart about which of these two to place higher on the list. When you wrestle each other three times on the biggest stage of them all, you're pretty much on equal footing, no matter who wins and loses. So you have to look at their other headlining acts. The Rock had two solid, totally underrated matches against John Cena in recent years. But when it comes down to it, Bret Hart and Steve Austin dancing at WrestleMania XIII might just be the best match in the PPV's 30-year history.
