Title This: 2014 WWE Elimination Chamber Reaction “WWE Did The Right Thing”

Batista defeated Alberto Del Rio

elimination chamber

Reaction: Where can you start about this match? Well, Del Rio faked an injury and then attacked Batista with a crutch. This gave him the upper hand and was a smart move to make Batista look vulnerable. When Batista finally got his offense in, that was the end of Del Rio. Alberto carried the match offensively and Batista hit a few moves to pick up the win. The fans cheered Alberto Del Rio. Yes, you read that correctly. Batista was booed out of the arena and proves to show you that all WWE fans are smarter than WWE gives them credit for.

What's Next: There has to be a heel turn for Batista. He will be in the WWE World Heavyweight Championship at WrestleMania, but nobody cares. That is shameful because Batista is good at what he does. He is really good at playing a prick heel who feels entitled. Ironic, huh? Del Rio, in my opinion, needs to be on that card somewhere. I can see ADR getting a pre-show match. There is just not enough steam behind him right now to make a big splash or feud happen in the next 5-6 weeks.

Randy Orton wins the Elimination Chamber Match

elimination chamber

Reaction: The match started with Sheamus and Cesaro, two big brawlers who love to fight and fight hard. The third pod was Daniel Bryan, while the fourth was Christian, followed by John Cena and then Randy Orton. It was your typical chamber match, with a few of the pods broken. Sheamus hit a Brogue Kick to break open Orton's. Anyways, the action never seemed to stop, which was a really good thing. Cesaro would hit multiple uppercuts, while Bryan kicked him and Sheamus on the ground. Christian looked really good in this match, targeting the arm of Bryan. Christian also had the best spot, which was a splash from the top of the pod. This splash eliminated Sheamus. The second elimination came when Christian gets a running knee from Daniel Bryan.

We are down to the final four, with Cesaro really working over John Cena.  He hit a few impressive moves and did the Giant Swing for about 30 seconds onto Randy Orton. Cena taps into his offense and is finally able to get Cesaro to tap to the STF. Orton is subjected to an STF from Cena, but the lights go out. The Wyatt Family takes out John Cena and the last two are Orton and Daniel Bryan. As Kane is trying to get things situated on the outside, Bryan flies through the air and takes him down. Daniel Bryan and Randy Orton go back and forth until a running knee connects onto Orton. Kane drags the referee out of the ring. Bryan gets hit with an RKO, but kicks out. Kane finally hits Daniel Bryan in the face and an RKO ends the night. It was high drama and very logical.

What's Next: John Cena vs. Bray Wyatt. Sheamus and Cesaro will find some important roles in WrestleMania, which is filling out the rest of the card. Daniel Bryan NEEDS to be added to the title match at Mania, no questions asked. Have Hogan or Vince put him in there. Orton will be champion and rightfully so. Christian is a wild card who may be left off the show entirely.

Score: 8/10

Elimination Chamber Score: 6/10.

*WWE did the right thing and the logical booking to make this show better than expected. Yes, there were down moments, but The 6 man tag team match and the main event made the night. It was the last stop to WrestleMania and one that exceeded my expectations. I just wish they invested more time into the other matches on the card. Daniel Bryan needed to lose because when his championship victory comes, it deserves to be on the biggest stage possible.
