2/8 Ring of Honor TV Review: 3-Way Championship Match, Truth Martini Fired, Top Prospect Tournament Finals & More

They air a video package that shows the journey both Raymond Rowe and Hanson took to get to the finals of the 2014 Top Prospects tournament. That match is next, and the winner gets a title match against the Ring of Honor World Television Championship.

ROH Top Prospects Finals
Raymond Rowe vs. Hanson

They both agree to the Code of Honor, but Hanson immediately attacks with right hands. They brawl around the ringside area, and back into the ring. A very physical contest so far from these two very big men. Michael Elgin walks down and is getting a close look at this match. Both guys getting a running star and Ray Rowe somehow stays on his feet, getting the better of a collision. A massive German suplex takes down Hanson for a close two-count. Hanson powers back with an impressive spinning powerslam. And again, Rowe turns the match with a one-arm suplex slam. The battle into the corner and Hanson fires away with a barrage of elbows. They take turns suplexing each other, with neither getting a huge advantage. Hanson actually cartwheels under a clothesline, tries for the Spin Kick of Doom, but Rowe counters with an STO. Rowe tries for Death Row but Hanson powers out, hits the Spin Kick of Doom, and picks up the win.

Mike's Thoughts: Man, I have never seen two men this size fill six minutes with this much phsyical, yet high-speed action. The worst thing about this match is that it had a loser – I genuinely hope we haven't seen the last of Raymond Rowe in Ring of Honor. As I've seen in past weeks, I think it's awesome that ROH chose two big men – two guys not the typical "indie look" – and put them in the finals of their annual tournament.

-Next week on Ring of Honor TV, the Briscoes reunite to take on Adam Cole, Matt Hardy, Michael Elgin and Chris Hero in a 3-way tag team elimination match. Since this is the same match from "Wrestling's Finest", if anybody pins Adam Cole, he gets a World Heavyweight Championship match.
