WrestleZone’s Top 10: What We Learned From Night of Champions

Number 4: The Shield Has No Competition

The Shield

With the WWE Tag Team Championships around the waist of Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns, where is the competition? WWE has painted themselves in a corner with these titles because of the lack of proper character development. The Real Americans are heels, so that is out. Tons of Funk are two dancing fools who are never going to be taken seriously. The Uso’s are average wrestlers at best who have already been buried time and time again. Prime Time Players are underrated but already lost to The Shield. If they believed in PTP, they would build them up to the point where they have nowhere else to go but in a long and meaningful storyline against The Shield. Instead, they win a “Kickoff Match” before Night of Champions and end up losing clean to Reigns and Rollins. What does this all mean? It tells you that WWE needs to find new and fresh faces for a dying division. Nobody cares to see any of the current tag teams fight The Shield. The Shield has been so dominant the past year that only a new team would help them stay fresh. There is not a tag team that threatens them. That is a problem.
