Wrestlezone’s Top 10: Wrestling Cities

1. New York

Bruno Sammartino

Yes, many of you will discuss this being number one because of the Raw following Wrestlemania 29 this year, but the crowd and its diehard fans haver been going strong since the beginning of professional wrestling. When you look at the history, Madison Square Garden has held moments that we cannot duplicate. All of the Bruno victories, Wrestlemanias, Summerslams, and Royal Rumbles have been a critical part of making this area of fans the best in the WWE. It may be because of the mix of people coming into NY/NJ, but there is nothing like performing in front of this crowd. New York has become an area that WWE makes certain they have multiple shows at a year, including WWE Raw's and Pay Per Views. I still love the old school entrance they use for PPV's at MSG. The last one that I remember is when John Cena returned before Wrestlemania 24 at the Royal Rumble. The roof exploded off of the arena, showed the passion of the fans, and made us remember why they are the absolute best.
