What’s Bothering Me: Part-Timer Hate, Cesaro, Cena vs Ryback

Chris Jericho#1. Part-Timer Hate

I've noticed a number of of fans hating on the WWE part-timers, their constant coming and going, and how much time they are taking away from the "stars of tomorrow". My VOW Reaction co-host, Adam Gorzelsky, seems to be the spokesman for this group.

Adam thinks WWE needs to bite the bullet one year at WrestleMania, and rather than have the event filled with the part-time "superstars" that can actually sell it, load it up only with the guys that are there all the time. Sounds like a recipe for disaster if you ask me.

Not just a disaster for Vince McMahon's wallet, but for the wrestlers too. You'd be setting them up for failure. How does that help matters?

WrestleMania should be looked at as it's own entity these days. It's grown to such a point that it's bigger than WWE even.

This one show each year is no longer meant to be a culmination of current WWE feuds. It's simply a spectacle, made up of fantasy booking, and headlined by the biggest stars the business has to offer. At this point, fans wouldn't settle for less than that.

I want Daniel Bryan and Dolph Ziggler headlining WrestleMania as much as the next guy, but they aren't ready yet. Period.

WrestleMania isn't the place to try and build stars. It makes no sense from a business standpoint, but most importantly, I don't think it would breed the positive results some of you seem to think it would.

WWE has a problem building stars, there's no question about that. But putting all the pressure and expectations of an event like WrestleMania on unproven stars' shoulders is not the way to do it.
