Number 6: Jimmy Hart and Jerry Lawler
When Jerry Lawler broke his hands in January of 1980, Jerry Jarrett lost his top star. This was an extremely huge blow, and something that he could not afford to happen. Then came Jimmy Hart, who carried the promotion. When Lawler returned to wrestling, the two were involved in a feud that lasted over a year. During his feud with Lawler, Hart managed some of the biggest names in the wrestling world including Austin Idol, Jimmy Valiant, Terry Funk, Dory Funk, Hulk Hogan, and Kevin Sullivan When the year was over, Lawler was back leading the promotion all by himself. Lawler got out of Hart what he needed, and that was the ultimate heel. When someone is so over, they need a bad guy to test his waters. Hart became that guy and really was the mouthpiece for future champions to come.
