Wrestlezone’s Top 10: Rise and Falls From 2011
6. Christian- Fall
Captain Charisma finally got his chance at the top in 2011, with a World Heavyweight Championship victory over Alberto Del Rio at Extreme Rules. Thanks to Edge, Christian finally got his shot. After quickly losing it, it was a complete character change for Christian, who thrived being a heel. He always wanted “one more match,” which he got. Randy Orton and Christian may have been the best and most entertaining feud in the ring last year, with match after match, and title change after title change. When Christian was sidelined, they did not know how to bring him back. He lost a ton of steam during these months, and even missed Wrestlemania. Upon his return, Christian would win the IC Title, and then lose it. Last time we saw him, he lost clean to Damien Sandow on Raw, which is when Sandow was just becoming interesting to the WWE Universe. From facing Orton for 6 months to now, Christian can be considered a flop of 2012.
