What’s Bothering Me: Chavo/TNA Debut, No SD GM, Ken Doane

#1. No GM Love For Smackdown?

Once again, the red-headed stepchild of the WWE gets slighted. At least, for now.

Reports are indicating WWE might not even use a General Manager or authority figure on Smackdown in the foreseeable future. This begs the question of whether one is even needed or not.

Let's use the "Benjamin Franklin Close" for this and list all the pros and cons of using a GM and see which one outweighs the other. That's how Franklin made all his decisions, and they seemed to work out okay.

PROS: used for creating structure and organization within the shows, used to help talent get over, historical success, makes sense from a logical standpoint.

I didn't want to stretch too far and begin making things up. Those are four main things I believe having a GM helps. It's not a lot, but let's now take a look at the negatives…

CONS: can sometimes take away too much time from the wrestlers, ???

And even that negative is easily fixed by simply NOT allowing them to take time away from the wrestlers. Other than that one preventable issue, what would be reasons to not use an authority figure?

Is AJ really too busy that she can't run both? Is it some sort of insult to her character and new power position to be subjected to the B show?

It's nothing new in WWE, but why they continue to dismiss the fact they have another major program on TV each week is beyond me. It will never be Raw, I get that. It shouldn't be. There's no problem having an A and a B show. I just don't see why the gap between A and B has to be so wide.

It's not the end of the world that Smackdown might not have a General Manager anytime soon, but I think we'll notice a major difference quickly. A kitchen without a chef will just be weird.

Of course, I'd take no GM over the 8 authority figures TNA seemed to have at one point.
