Wrestlezone’s Top 10: Money in the Bank Moments

Number 7: One of a Kind

Rob Van Dam

Still remaining as the only person to call his match ahead of time, Rob Van Dam left Chicago with the illustrious Money in the Bank briefcase. Wrestlemania 22 had many question marks, especially in this match. RVD was the best choice to win, as ECW One Night Stand would return to the Hammerstein Ballroom soon after. Van Dam would call his shot and challenge John Cena to step into his home. I loved the story here, and loved that WWE embraced the fact that Cena would be the heel for that one historic night. The Ladder Match was great and had excellent athleticism, but it was a bigger picture. RVD would get his due in the WWE, become champion, and revive ECW. While it did not last long, we had a taste of what it used to be. It gave the fans a blast from the past, and relived some of the glory days in professional wrestling.
