CM Punk John CenaCM Punk – One Step Up

John Cena is reportedly going to be one of Punk's next WWE Championship challengers. Let the outcries pour in, I get it. I can't say I'm looking forward to Cena in the title picture either.

On the flipside of the coin, it's probably the best thing that could happen for CM Punk. John Cena was one of the main subjects of Punk's attention when he began "shooting" just over a year ago. The ammunition for Punk was limitless when it comes to Cena and it was a big part of what got him so over in the first place.

I'm sure that can be repeated, to an extent.

Plus, if Punk is working against John Cena, you'll know the WWE Championship and the one holding it will be properly positioned on TV and pay per views. For at least the time he's working with Cena, it's impossible for Punk to be overshadowed by Cena. That can only be a good thing, right?

To the John Cena haters, I have very little to ease your forthcoming pain and sorrow.

Punk is the closest thing we have to the "next" John Cena, so it makes sense the two of them work together now that Punk is truly on that level. They are in different places than the last time they worked together and it should be an entertaining program.

Who will be the champion at the end of it is surely up for debate, but brace yourselves for either option. I won't be surprised if "the cash cow", as Big Show so eloquently described him, once again reigns over all when the smoke clears.

"I" can handle it. Can YOU?
