STAYING THE COURSE
I give WWE booking credit: EVERYONE KNEW that Big Show was going to help John Laurinaitis beat John Cena at the PPV, thus earning his job back. There wasn’t a leak, per se. The path was just TOO OBVIOUS.
But, if that’s what WWE creative thinks is best, they were right to do it. When you double-cross the obvious by way of fooling the marks, you too often go against the grain of the proper storyline. This gives us a PPV main event of Big Show vs. Cena which, as non-Big Four filler goes, is fine.
Laurinaitis screwed up on Raw when he said he had hired Big Show back on Saturday, thus making Show a WWE employee when Sunday’s match occurred, which would invalidate the result. I don’t blame Big Johnny. It’s tough to keep all the threads straight when you’re feuding with EVERYBODY. Paul Heyman should do ALL THE PROMOS.
