WrestleZone’s Top Five: Elimination Chamber Matches

Number 4: No Way Out 2009

A match with a lot of surprises. Edge started off the match not even being involved in it. He would run out and attack Kofi Kingston, thus inserting himself in the match. Forget about the Mike Knox effect, which never worked and nobody cared about. Edge, Cena, Knox, Mysterio, Jericho, and Kane would all work great together to give us just under a half hour of unpredictability. Shockingly enough, Kane would be eliminated first by Mysterio hitting a big spot off the chamber pod. Knox would be gone, but it was the 619, Codebreaker, and Spear in succession on Cena to make the crowd get excited. We would get a new champion, and it was either Mysterio, Jericho, or Edge. The three would put on a great ten minutes of triple threat action, with Mysterio overcoming many attacks. He would soon eliminate Jericho, leaving Edge and Mysterio all alone. The fight was not as brutal as Number 5, but it was unique and made the fans wonder the entire match who would walk out as champion. At the very end, Edge would pick up the hard fought victory, a guy who was not even advertised being in the match. Now, that is a shocker. The Rated R superstar would hold the gold and head into WrestleMania as the champion. What a great half hour of everything you want to see in an Elimination Chamber match.
