Crimson
ONE BAD ASS STEP UP
I have really studied TNA superstar Crimson over the past several weeks and I can honestly say that I've enjoyed his work. I'm mindful of the fact that he is currently working a program with Kurt Angle – and that certainly doesn't hurt – but I think crimson has really held his own with the Olympic gold medalist.
Compare him to a guy like Matt Morgan. Here's a guy that should have been a lot further in a company like TNA than he is right now. He has the look, some people even believe he has the mic skills (I'm not a huge fan, but that's beside the point) and at one time, he had a lot of support from the TNA fans. Booked properly, I feel Matt Morgan had (and still has) a really good shot at the top of the roster, but the easiest way to derail a train is to script a trainwreck. Creative never fully invested in Matt Morgan the way they seem to be investing in Crimson right now.
The "undefeated" streak doesn't mean that much to me anymore, but putting over a guy like a "bad ass" he doesn't lose can still be effective. Sheamus was booked that way during his early WWE run. He took some heat somewhere along the way and suffered the consequences, but TNA has yet to do that with Crimson. I still have a concern that they will at some point, but for the time being, Crimson takes a step up in my book.
Crimson doesn't have to be amazing in the ring. He looks, acts and talks like a bad ass and that is a quality that TNA can sell.
