WHEN YOU WISH UPON A STAR
TNA has reportedly hired Rob Van Dam to debut when the company makes its return to Monday night. Mistake. Van Dam is a solid performer with a modicum of charisma, but he's not a draw. TNA wants to make a splash by bringing in new faces during their Monday night infancy, but after Van Dam gets that initial pop, he's still there, he still does wooden promos, he's still not a legit main-eventer, and you still have to pay him.
Gregory Helms would be a better get. Better worker, gives his heart and soul to the business, was on WWE TV much more recently and he's cheaper.
MR. KENNEDY! (Anderson…)
Sometimes the difference between WWE and TNA (or other lesser promotions) is intangible, hard to figure out.
Case in point: When Mr. Kennedy did the microphone/echo shtick in WWE, it seemed like a big deal. Imaginative. When Mr. Anderson does the same thing in TNA, it seems snarky and juvenile. I don't know the difference. But there is one.
