Buy Vince Russo a bus ticket out of town and re-hire Jim Cornette. Let JC shape the creative direction, hire who he wants and you’d still have tons of loot left over. TNA would be built around young, athletic wrestlers who compete for titles and build toward money matches that would draw houses and PPV buys. Can you imagine how energized the wrestling fan base would be if TNA became a wrestling company?
If not that, then hire David Lagana to run things with help from an experienced wrestling mind. That formula in Ring of Honor led to a great television show and now that HDNet has more time to air soft core porn and mixed martial arts B-shows, Lagana can apply that guidance to the TNA brand. Of course, Flair hates him (and by default, so does Mark Madden) but TNA should let Flair go so he can be back in the WWE.
Same for Hogan and Bischoff… Lotta scratch being laid out and no bang for the buck. I’m not for wholesale changes within the company because the Hardy’s, RVD, Mr. Anderson and others have name value and experience. But like any great horse, talents like these need to be led. Guided in the right direction. Put in positions where they can deliver…
So, TNA, you were given a great gift… to see what your future would be like without Nash and Booker T. I have a feeling it would look the same if you had them unless you make the changes prescribed here. But will they?
Perhaps an “Intervention” style sit down? The addicts that run the “West Orlando Mental Hospital” aren’t ready to head to rehab. Egyptian style protest in the streets? Sure but TNA’s fan base could fill my driveway… not exactly going to bring Anderson Cooper out for a beatdown.
Sure, I know “The Wrestling Business” was last seen on the side of a milk carton but I guarantee it can come back if you put the right people in charge of it.
