Long before she would transform into The Hugger, Bayley wrestled in a warehouse for Florida Championship Wrestling, prior to the change to NXT. There, she tried to start a fresh and experimented with a new luchadora character, wrestling under a mask.
While it was a unique gimmick for a female in WWE, it likely ran its course and Bayley would then shift her character to more of an overly attached “fan girl”. While the fan girl gimmick stayed for a while, she would see a major transformation in character that would shoot her to stardom in WWE.
