Here’s what’s on tap for the August 16 episode of Friday Night SmackDown.
Naomi vs. Blair Davenport
Blair Davenport previously cost Bianca Belair and Jade Cargill their tag team title match previously on WWE SmackDown. She then aligned with The Unholy Union after the attack. The trio tried to intervene last week as well, but Naomi stopped them.
The former SmackDown Women’s Champion will be in action, as she will clash with Blair Davenport. Meanwhile, WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions Alba Fyre and Isla Dawn are preparing for their triple threat tag team title showdown on RAW.
Kevin Owens vs. Grayson Waller on WWE SmackDown
Kevin Owens was handpicked by Cody Rhodes to face him for the Undisputed WWE Championship at Bash in Berlin. The Prizefighter reluctantly agreed to face his close friend in Germany after a little bit of persuasion from WWE SmackDown GM Nick Aldis.
Later that night, A-Town Down Under approached Aldis after failing to advance in the tag team title tournament. The SmackDown General Manager then confirmed that Waller will ace Owens in singles action this week.
The Street Profits vs. #DIY – #1 Contender’s Match For WWE Tag Team Championship
The Street Profits and DIY both emerged victorious in their respective matches on WWE SmackDown last week.
Montez Ford and Angelo Dawkins beat A-Town Down Under. Ciampa and Gargano, on the other hand, bested Pretty Deadly to advance into the next round.
The two final teams will clash on Friday night, and the winners will be the next challengers to WWE Tag Team Champions Jacob Fatu and Tama Tonga.
Nia Jax WWE Women’s Championship Celebration with Tiffany Stratton as the host
Nia Jax stunned the world at WWE SummerSlam 2024. “The Irresistible Force” beat Bayley to win the WWE Women’s Championship, although she got a little help from Tiffany Stratton.
The 2024 Women’s Money in the Bank winner seems to have some special celebration in store for the Women’s Champion tonight on WWE SmackDown.
Roman Reigns to appear on WWE SmackDown
Roman Reigns made his illustrious return at SummerSlam 2024.
“The Tribal Chief” helped Cody Rhodes retain his championship against Solo Sikoa in the main event. Reigns then appeared on the very next episode of SmackDown to destroy The Bloodline.
The former Universal Champion returns to the blue brand tonight in Orlando.
