AEW Dynamite Preview (5/29/24)

It’s almost time for AEW Dynamite.

Tonight’s Dynamite goes down live at the Kia Forum in Los Angeles, CA. The episode will feature the fallout from Double or Nothing. Fans who missed out on the PPV event can check out my recap of it here.

That said, here’s what’s on tap for the May 29, 2024, episode of Wednesday Night Dynamite.

Forbidden Door Casino Gauntlet

The road to Forbidden Door begins tonight on AEW Dynamite. This week’s episode will feature a Casino Gauntlet where “wrestlers from all over the world” will fight for an opportunity at the AEW World Championship at Forbidden Door.

Who will be the competitors? We will found out tonight on Dynamite.

Mercedes Moné celebrates TBS title win

Mercedes Moné beat Willow Nightingale for the AEW TBS Championship at Double or Nothing this past Sunday. “The CEO” will be live and in living color at the Kia Forum to celebrate her title win with the fans.

One might expect Mercedes’ next challenger to pop up for the title. Technically, it has to be Willow because she has yet to invoke her rematch clause. However, the former TBS Champion might’ve to deal with Kris Statlander first after what happened between them at DoN.

Jericho is set to debut a new segment called “TV Time” on AEW Dynamite this week. What do “The Learning Tree” and his protégé Big Bill have in store for the fans? We will found out in a matter of hours on Dynamite.

Jon Moxley vs. Rocky Romero – IWGP title eliminator match

Jon Moxley defeated Konosuke Takeshita in a hard-hitting IWGP eliminator match at AEW Double or Nothing. The reigning IWGP World Champion takes on Rocky Romero in another eliminator this week on Dynamite.

Romero has been on a singles run as of late. However, he’s yet to pick up a major win. Romero previously lost to Shibata in their FTW title contender series on AEW Collision. His most recent outing saw him lose to PAC on Rampage.

Swerve Strickland vs. Killswitch on AEW Dynamite

Swerve Strickland fended off The Patriarchy during his world title match against Christian Cage at AEW Double or Nothing. The champion came out on top against the challenger. Tonight, he takes on Killswitch one-on-one in Los Angeles.
