#3.) WWE wants to use it as a stepping stone for Corbin
WWE loves Baron Corbin and that’s clear from the way they push him. For years, many have criticized WWE for pushing Corbin way more than what he was ready for. While it was true, WWE probably realized that there is a better way around to pushing Corbin. Rather than having him main event PPVs and compete for the Universal Championship, the probable hope would be that a KOTR win would further legitimize him as a main eventer.
If it hasn’t already, it’s certainly come close.
