#3.) Re-emergence of the brand split
In 2019, Vince McMahon introduced something called the “Wild Card” rule. While it was heavily praised on-screen, fans were anything but happy about it. It essentially killed off the brand split. From only three superstars appearing in the opposite brand, it became four and within a week, WWE already lost track, with superstars freely appearing on the opposite brands.
Now, RAW superstars even challenge for SmackDown titles while SmackDown superstars like Roman Reigns appear more frequently on the red brand than the assigned blue brand. It feels chaotic in itself and with the FOX deal incoming, WWE may want to quickly revive the brand split and brand exclusivity.
