#1.) The main event was Kofi Kingston‘s litmus test
Kofi Kingston is on fire and WWE knows this. The Gauntlet match saw him get some incredible reactions from the crowd. WWE officials may have felt that it was a one-off, so they gave him another opportunity to prove it at Elimination Chamber. He would end up getting a goosebump-inducing reaction.
The crowd was behind Kofi Kingston so much that they were chanting for him every minute of the way. They desperately wanted to see him win, and though he was never intended to, the match was designed to get our hopes up. There may be bigger things coming for Kofi Kingston.
