#2.) He’s of Syrian descent
Sami Zayn was born and raised in Canada, but he happens to be of Syrian descent. He doesn’t hide it either, as his ring gear usually has something in Arabic printed on it. That’s not where Zayn stops as a Syrian, however. He launched SamiForSyria and in 2017, raised enough funds to open mobile clinics for victims of violence in Syria.
He took it a step higher in 2018, once again teaming with SAMS (Syrian American Medical Society) to raise more funds to provide more medical clinics. They’ve also teamed with the local company Swasia to provide food, clean water and baby formula.
It seems to have worked, as the first effort reportedly provided successful aid to over 8000 people. It’s a noble cause and Zayn is in the forefront of it. If you wish to donate to the cause, click the link here
