5 Ways WWE Can Revitalize Bray Wyatt’s Career

It’s hard to dispute the fact that Bray Wyatt has been WWE’s biggest missed opportunity in the most recent years. Wyatt debuted as a major threat alongside the Wyatt Family and created an impact right off the bat. In fact, things were going quite steady and he even found himself facing John Cena at WrestleMania XXX. And then he lost.

The story of Bray Wyatt’s career so far can be summed up by the fact that he always falls short in the big one. Whenever he’s needed the big win to push him and legitimize him, he’s always lost. Some people say that wins and losses don’t matter in pro wrestling, but Bray Wyatt is the clear example of why big wins matter the most.

It’s severely affected the perception of his character because he stopped looking like a threat. Wyatt, in general, has been one of the more protected characters but it’s always a start-and-stop type of situation with him. It’s a shame because time and again, he’s shown that he’s one of the most captivating characters on WWE TV and is capable of so much more than what’s seen on TV.

But there’s still hope for The Eater Of Worlds and here’s how WWE can do it.

#5.) A winning streak

One of the best ways to get a superstar hot again is by simply having them win. It doesn’t necessarily have to be in a Roman Reigns or John Cena type of way where it gets tiring. Bray Wyatt actually found himself without defeat for a good part of post-SummerSlam 2018 until WrestleMania 33.

This legitimized him a lot more and you could clearly see that fans were getting behind him. It can be a slow and steady kind of push, where they’re simply not losing or they’re protected a lot more. There doesn’t need to be an emphasis on a winning streak.

#4.) Not wrestle on weekly TV

With Bray Wyatt, one of the most important factors is his mystique. He’s been compared to The Undertaker a lot of times and while that should have been a good thing, it’s played against him more often than not. One of the best ways to maintain this mystique is by not having him wrestle on weekly television.

In fact, if you recall, even The Undertaker didn’t feature on TV every week. He didn’t talk too much either and it helped him in the long run. Not having Bray Wyatt appear every week would make his presence more special and his promos would be more impactful.

#3.) A midcard title

There’s absolutely no doubt that Bray Wyatt is a World Championship-level performer. There’s also little doubt that if he were organically thrust into the World or Universal title picture, people wouldn’t complain. However, a more organic way to do it would be to build him up with a midcard title such as the United States or preferably, the Intercontinental Championship.

Not only will it add a notch on his resumé, but it will help increase the prestige of the title as well. He can have a good run with it for a few months where he defends only on PPVs. Wyatt is the right guy to elevate a title.

#2.) Move him back to SmackDown Live

When Bray Wyatt was drafted to SmackDown Live in 2016, it turned out to be one of the best moves for his career. Not only was he in the land of opportunity, but with lesser big names, it was the perfect platform for him to take the ball and run with it. He was making strides on SmackDown Live and was having one of the best runs of his career.

The Randy Orton storyline may not have had a satisfying conclusion, but until Orton turned on Wyatt, the storyline was the best thing going in all of WWE. The blue brand is the perfect place for Wyatt to be and it didn’t make sense when he was drafted to RAW.

#1.)  A face turn

Bray Wyatt can be the babyface that WWE has been looking for all these years. If you remember in 2016 post-WrestleMania, Wyatt had turned face and it was one of the most anticipated and well-received ones. Unfortunately, an injury put a stop to that. Even when he became WWE Champion, people wanted to cheer him and clearly viewed him as a babyface, even if he wasn’t in the storyline.

He had a brief run as a face with Matt Hardy, but not enough to capitalize. Hopefully, he can have a good run as a babyface and have a complete career resurgence.
