#2.) vs Asuka – NXT Takeover: Orlando
At WrestleMania 33 weekend, Ember Moon got her first chance at championship gold. She took on Asuka in what many considered to be the match in the NXT Women’s division at the time. Ember Moon was built up as Asuka’s biggest threat up to that point and that was the story told even during the match.
The chemistry that Asuka and Ember Moon possessed was off the charts and it translated beautifully in the ring. They were practically even in every aspect and it took Asuka a desperation move to retain her title, as she shoved the referee into Ember Moon before finishing her. It was the first time Asuka had used dirty tactics to win a match and the story they told of her desperation was incredible.
