Ospreay’s signing with NJPW was a game-changer for his career. But you won’t believe who was responsible for putting in a word with the NJPW brass: AJ Styles, Kazuchika Okada, and Hiroshi Tanahashi. It’s mind-boggling to think that three former IWGP Heavyweight Champions were responsible for his signing.
Ospreay mentioned that after a RevPro show, Okada told him that they needed to get him onboard. He learned that even Tanahashi put in a good word for him, and to top it all off – his childhood hero AJ Styles (who he cites as the reason he got into wrestling) put in a word for him even after leaving for WWE. It speaks volumes of how valuable Ospreay is.
