American Alpha’s first defense of the NXT Tag Team Championships came against the team they won it from – The Revival. American Alpha and The Revival proved to have naturally incredible chemistry together and they took the quality of matches to a whole other level in NXT, raising a new bar. Both teams were considered among the best in the world and their rematch at NXT Takeover: The End proved why people were right in thinking so.
It was tag team wrestling at its finest and the psychology and old-school tactics of The Revival along with the tag team finesse of American Alpha made for an absolute banger of a tag team title match which saw The Revival win back the tag titles.
