#3.) Aligning with Sheamus
In mid-2016, both Cesaro and Sheamus were singles stars without much direction. Then-RAW General Manager Mick Foley used it as an opportunity to make the two face off in a ‘Best of Seven’ series, promising the winner a title opportunity (while also being vague about which title). Heading into Clash Of Champions 2016, the two were even at 3-3.
They stole the show at Clash Of Champions, with a hard-hitting and incredible match. Unfortunately, it ended in a no contest, leaving the series without a winner. Mick Foley then forced the two polar opposite superstars to team together and gave them a tag title opportunity.
At first, Cesaro & Sheamus simply couldn’t get along and played an extremely entertaining tag team where Cesaro was a babyface and Sheamus was still a heel. After a hilarious segment in a bar that saw them brawl with others, they finally got on the same page. It was the beginning of an incredible run as a tag team, where they would dub themselves as “The Bar”.
