In the inaugural Andre The Giant Memorial Battle Royal, Cesaro had to battle odds against several other competitors to win the Andre The Giant Memorial Battle Royal.
Perhaps his toughest moment came at the end when he had to eliminate The World’s Largest Athlete The Big Show. Cesaro struggled with uppercut after uppercut and clothesline after clothesline, failing to eliminate The Big Show. In an iconic WrestleMania moment (as cliché as the term has become), Cesaro would lift The Big Show and throw him out of the ring, eliminating him. It was a great resemblance to WrestleMania III when Andre The Giant was lifted and bodyslammed by Hulk Hogan.
In a contest named after the great European Andre The Giant, The Swiss Superman would become the inaugural winner of the battle royal. Even a dejected Big Show couldn’t help but show respect as he shook his hand after the match.
