Bryan Danielson Thinks He Had ‘More Fun’ Wrestling Okada Because He Broke His Arm

Earlier this year, The American Dragon Bryan Danielson wrestled in one of the biggest matches of his career at the Forbidden Door pay-per-view. He recently revealed why he had the most fun in that particular match.

The match mentioned above is a one-on-one against former IWGP World Heavyweight Champion Kazuchika Okada. Both wrestlers put on an absolute clinic. In the end, Danielson managed to pick up the win via submission.

Following the match, it was revealed that the former WWE World Heavyweight Champion suffered a fractured arm. He recently spoke during an interview with Fan Nation about the match.

Danielson claimed that he enjoyed the match but halfway through the fight, he realized he was injured. Both he and the referee had a bit of a tough time trying to explain the situation to Okada who was not well-versed in the English language.

“Hindsight? I think I had more fun because of it. During the match, I turned to the referee and said, ‘I think I fractured my arm.’ I’m in the ring with someone whose English isn’t his first language, and we didn’t even know for sure what it was to communicate. Even after the match when I was in the press conference, I didn’t realize how bad the break was,” Danielson said.

Bryan Danielson admits that this was the worst injury of his career

The American Dragon also mentioned that the match against Okada gave him ultimate satisfaction. He also revealed that the fractured arm was the worst injury he suffered during a match.

“Although I talk about the satisfaction of completing the match against Okada with the broken arm, it’s actually the singular worst injury I’ve had. My neck injury was worse, but that was the result of years of abuse on my neck. It’s the same with the concussions. No single concussion was worse than the break of my arm. And because of that, it put me at a point where I couldn’t be there for my kids the way I wanted,” Danielson said.
