Ember Moon Challenges Asuka
Ember Moon took on the debut of Lei’D Tapa, who had a pretty decent run in TNA. Moon works a faster pace, but Tapa tossed her around early in the match. A few foot stomps and boot, but Moon fires back with one of her own and a dropkick. A superkick combination and a shot to the chest gives Moon the upper hand. She hits Eclipse for the win.
Ember calls out Asuka after the match and says she wants her at NXT Takeover: Brooklyn. Ember is talented, without a doubt, but is this the right person to challenge and potentially defeat Asuka? I think not because her character and gimmick isn’t special, does not stand out to make us think that she is the face of the women of NXT. I still have no idea who she is, why she is here and what makes her different than anyone else. The match should be good and much longer than the 3 minute matches we have seen from both women over the past few months.
Sanity is Next and I Love It
Alexander Wolfe and Killian Dain attack a few jabroni’s who were scheduled to face The Authors of Pain. The champions get into the ring and face off with Sanity. They begin to brawl and the champions take over quickly. Dain hits a massive clothesline, but gets taken down from behind. The champions fend off the two men who look to be next in line for a championship match.
I am a huge supporter of what they are doing with Killian Dain. Last week, he showed us he can work for a big man at 300 pounds and this week they are showing us that he is worthy of a tag team opportunity. With no #DIY or any other legit team, NXT goes to guys that are always around but never fully utilized. I like this and think they can make this work extremely well in Brooklyn. We STILL have not seen everything that Sanity can give us and that is a scary, but fun, thought.
My only question is this: Where is Eric Young?
