The above video (h/t to Pro Wrestling Sheet) features WWE Superstar Sami Zayn talking about a new fundraising campaign called #SamiForSyria that will benefit the Syrian American Medical Society Foundation, a group that helps victims of the war in Syria.
Zayn said the money raised will go towards building a mobile health clinic to get medical help for people in war-torn areas of Syria that do not have access to hospitals or health care. The fundraiser will need to generate at least $48,000 to get the unit operational and running for six months; visit the fundraiser site or text “SamiForSyria” to 71-777 for more information on how to participate.
ESPY Awards
During the opening monologue at tonight’s ESPY Awards on ESPN, NFL great and show host Peyton Manning took a playful shot at John Cena (and swimmer Ryan Lochte) with the following remark:
“John Cena is an athlete the same way Ryan Lochte is a reliable witness.”
The line refers to Lochte’s involvement in a falsified robbery story after members of the United States swim team were involved in a vandalism incident.
Cena Talks Balancing His Outside Projects with WWE
As noted, John Cena appeared on WWE Talking Smack this week, and in the video below, Cena addressed balancing his time outside of WWE with his family and his time in the ring. Cena joked he is working on cloning himself so he can be in two places at one time, but when he’s not in the ring, it’s not because he doesn’t want to be, it’s because he is not allowed while working on other projects:
