(1) Oney Lorcan def. Andrade “Cien” Almas. Almas came out in his old La Sombra mask and did a lot of moves out of the Tetsuya Naito playbook which was appreciated by the fans. The backstory for those that don’t know is La Sombra basically created the original Los Ingobernables in CMLL before he came to WWE, and through their partnership with New Japan Naito created the Los Ingobernables de Japon stable, currently the most popular stable in Japan.
(2) Billie Kay & Peyton Royce def. Liv Morgan & Aliyah.
(3) The Revival def. Riddick Moss & Tino Sabbatelli.
(4) Tye Dillinger def. Elias Samson & Bobby Roode. Triple threat match. Roode was over huge, and Dillinger got a great reaction as well. Samson got some boos for his gimmick but he’s still relatively unexposed to the Japan scene.
– NXT general manager William Regal and Hideo Itami did promos for the live crowd.
(5) Asuka def. Nia Jax. NXT Women’s Championship match. Good match, interesting to see Nia Jax back in NXT for this tour. Maybe they just needed a known opponent for Asuka in Japan to make the match look like a big deal?
(6) DIY def. Akira Tozawa & Tajiri. NXT Tag Team Championship match. Really great match that was a lot of fun for the Japanese crowd with Tajiri returning and Tozawa coming back off the Cruiserweight Classic. DIY is just so good.
(7) Shinsuke Nakamura def. Samoa Joe TO WIN THE NXT CHAMPIONSHIP. Really great main event match and a special treat to see the NXT title change hands to Nakamura in Japan. It wasn’t even a year ago he wrestled his last Tokyo Dome show for New Japan against AJ Styles.
