AJ Styles made his televised in-ring return on WWE Smackdown Live tonight, defending his WWE Championship in the opening match of the night against James Ellsworth.
Styles won in rather quick fashion, blocking a superkick by Ellsworth and hitting a combination of moves highlighted by a forearm smash. You can see the match in the player below:

Dolph Ziggler
Following the match Styles cut a promo about having the year off, but Dolph Ziggler came out and reminded him of their title match. Baron Corbin ended up entering and talked about Ziggler not earning a title match, and said he deserved a title shot, not him. Corbin ended up attacking him, then Ziggler told Daniel Bryan after the break that he wanted Corbin in a match tonight. Bryan said he would make the match, but if Ziggler loses, Corbin will get his title match against AJ Styles instead.
