Daniel Bryan and Renee Young kicks off the show with Dolph Ziggler’s big win. They give a recap of everyone who was in the match. Daniel Bryan acknowledges that he does not like the Miz but he does still give the Miz opportunities. Both hosts were surprised that the Miz helped Dolph Ziggler win by stopping Dean Ambrose from getting in the ring.
Daniel Bryan believes it will be interesting to see what Dolph Ziggler does with this new opportunity. He recalls that Dolph Ziggler had a chance to win the WWE World Championship against Dean Ambrose and then a chance for the Intercontinental Championship against the Miz.
James Ellsworth not being able to fight tonight is brought up but before they could really begin to talk about it AJ Styles interrupts.
First Guest: AJ Styles
AJ Styles starts off by saying that James Ellsworth is lucky that he is sick and that Daniel Bryan saved his life by postponing the match. Renee Young asks what exactly illness Ellsworth has. AJ Styles responded with “Chinfluenza.”
Daniel Bryan asks Styles why everyone is always making fun of Ellsworth’s chin. Styles tells him that it is because it is funny. The GM informs Styles that his jokes are a form of bullying and that WWE is anti-bulling. AJ Styles finds Daniel Bryan’s chastisement funny he was called fat earlier. Daniel Bryan denies that but says that he said Styles had a fat crease in his arm. He adds that his arms look good though.
AJ Styles says that Daniel Bryan puts him in a bad mood especially with his protection jokes from earlier in the night. Daniel Bryan plays clueless a bit and asks if AJ Styles even knew what his joke meant. AJ Styles responds with protection from babies. Bryan denies that as well and says that he meant protection from James Ellsworth’s cold. AJ Styles was annoyed with Daniel Bryan’s denial and says that’s not what he meant.
Renee Young changes the conversation to Dolph Ziggler being the number one contender. Styles tells her that he is a fan of WWE and that he witnessed a great match. He says that Luke Harper is intimidating but not smart enough to bull off the win. He also adds that all of the opponents in the match were the reason that he needed protection.
Daniel Bryan informs everyone that Ellsworth will still get his chance at the championship but he has to wait in line because he was sick today. Renee Young tells AJ Styles that he has two people on his tail now. He finds it funny that she considers Ellsworth on her tail. Daniel Bryan reminds Styles that Ellsworth has beaten him four times. Styles wants everyone to remember that Dean Ambrose his the only reason that Ellsworth won. He also points out that the GM did nothing to reprimand Ambrose for interfering. Bryan says it’s because he is so cute. Styles is confused and asks if he is talking about Ambrose. Bryan says he was talking about Ellsworth and that Renee Young says that about Dean Ambrose.
Renee Young asks Styles if he was happy that Ambrose lost the match. He says that he was because he was tired of beating him. He believes it is someone else’s turn. He also says that he does not know anything about Luke Harper and that he was glad he lost because it would have been difficult wrestling someone you know nothing about. Styles knows that people would have loved to see the two of them fight each other but he does not care because Harper was not smart enough to get the win.
AJ Styles predicts that he is going to beat Dolph Ziggler. He says that Dolph Ziggler is great but not phenomenal. He adds that Ziggler lives and dies by his super kick. He believes that he can beat that. Renee Young asks Styles how is ankle is doing. All he would say is that he is ready to go. Daniel Bryan thanks AJ Styles for coming on the show and says he was a phenomenal guest.
Next topic is the women’s division. Renee Young wants to know who Daniel Bryan thinks attacked Nikki Bella. He does not know but he feels like Carmella is being more truthful than Natalya. He says that Carmella has not lied yet and that she is always upfront when attacking Nikki. He thinks that if Natalya did attack Nikki she is not telling because she is afraid of the repercussions.
Second Guest: The Usos
Renee Young notes that the Usos have not been on the show in a while and asks them what has been going on. Jey Uso puts his leg on the desk and shows the brace on his ankle. Daniel Bryan asks how the injury occurred. Jey Uso tells him that ring excitement was responsible for the injury.
Jimmy Uso brings up the Hype Bros and says that the word on the street is they’re not going to be so hype soon. He says that it looks like Zack Ryder suffered an injury. Daniel Bryan tells them that Ryder did suffer an injury but they don’t know the extent of the injury.
The Usos tell the GM that they would gladly take the Hype Bros place. Daniel Bryan asks why they should just be names the number one contenders. Jimmy Uso says they should because they are the realest and best tag team. Jay Uso wants to know if anyone really believes that the Hype Bros have a chance against the Wyatts. Daniel Bryan says that everyone has a chance. The Usos respond with a no. They run through all of the tag teams and says they are all jokes.
Renee Young asks if Jey Uso’s ankle will be ready to go by next week. Jey says that he will be ready if he has to go on one leg. Daniel Bryan reminds them that they have to see what the injury is before he makes any decisions. He also tells them that if something is wrong with Zack Ryder that the Usos should have to fight someone before they are named the number one contenders. Daniel Bryan names some tag teams that they should have to fight and they reject all of them.
Jimmy Uso starts singing making it happen. He and Daniel Bryan start awkwardly dancing to the song. Renee Young has a good laugh at their dancing. She tries to join in to the dancing but ends up showing that she has no rhythm. Everyone laughs at her efforts before the Usos leave.
After the Usos left, they discuss their day with the troops. Daniel Bryan went on the water with the Coast Guard. He says that he drove a boat and tied the knot. The most touching part of his day was going to the Naval Ceremonial Guard facility where they do the tribute to fallen soldiers. He adds that those men and women are the true heroes.
Renee Young says that these trips make her so grateful for the opportunities that she has. She got to see attack dogs and she saw Jason Jordan get shocked by a Taser. She also got to go on a helicopter ride and to see the White House.
Third Guest: Alexa Bliss
Alexa Bliss comes on really sore from her match. She says that she landed weirdly on her knee when she was getting out of the ring. She does not know how serious the injury is because she has not seen the trainer yet. Daniel Bryan asks her why she has not seen a trainer yet. She tells him that she thought she could just elevate it and that she would be ok.
Daniel Bryan tells her that he thought that she limped, walked normally, and then remembered to limp again. Alexa Bliss tells him that he was questioning her integrity. Daniel Bryan tells her that she looks fine now and is even kicking with her “bad” leg. Bliss blames it all on adrenaline. She says that she needs to focus on herself to get better as a leader of the locker room.
Alexa Bliss begins to show pain and leaves the show to go get ice for her leg. Daniel Bryan clearly does not believe she is injured.
Before ending the show, Renee Young reminds everyone about Tribute for the Troops where both Smackdown and Raw superstars will be wrestling.
