Potential Bad Sign for WWE Raw Rating, WWE Facing Even More Debate Competition

As noted, last night’s WWE Raw faced big competition from the first US Presidential debate between Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton.

The debate drew a 46.2 overnight TV rating with a 63 share, up 17% from the Mitt Romney vs Barack Obama debate in 2012. This rating covers four broadcast networks and three cable news networks including ABC, CBS, NBC, FOX, CNN, FNC and MSNBC.

WWE Smackdown Live will also face debate competition on Tuesday, October 4th as the first Vice Presidential debate between Mike Pence and Tim Kaine will take place from 9pm until 10:30pm EST. The Smackdown brand WWE No Mercy PPV will then go up against the second Trump vs Clinton debate on Sunday, October 9th.

More News on the WWE Statuses of Drew Gulak and Tony Nese

As noted, it’s unknown at this time what, if any, type of deal Drew Gulak has signed with WWE after appearing on Raw last night, but WWN Live has just issued the following:

WWN is very proud that WWN contracted wrestlers Drew Gulak and Tony Nese wrestled on WWE Raw last night in Cruiserweight Division matches. Both Gulak and Nese are now featured on the WWE.com Raw Roster section. This is another step in the building relationship between EVOLVE/WWN and WWE. We are very happy to say that Gulak and Nese will continue to wrestle in EVOLVE while they compete in the WWE Cruiserweight Division. Gulak is set to team with Tracy Williams to challenge EVOLVE Tag Team Champions DUSTIN & Drew Galloway at EVOLVE 70 on October 15th in Orlando, FL. The losing duo can never team again. Tony Nese returns to EVOLVE on November 12th in Queens, NY and November 13th in Joppa, MD.
