PWTorch.com is reporting Ricochet, who wrestles as Prince Puma on Lucha Underground, has opted out of his current deal with the promotion.
Ricochet is featured on season three of the El Rey network series, which was taped earlier this summer and premieres tomorrow night. Once the season has completed its original airing, which is scheduled to run through early 2017, Ricochet would be able to then appear on another promotion’s television programs if he were to sign somewhere else.

Ricochet was rumored to be looking at opting out of his LU deal back in June (originally reported by the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, and could end up with WWE, although the legalities of him signing with them could be an issue. It was noted / speculated that while Lucha Underground talents cannot appear on TV somewhere else until six months after that current season has aired, it’s possible he could work something out since Puma is a masked character, and he wouldn’t head to WWE as that character, so it wouldn’t present a marketing issue.
Ricochet is taking certain independent bookings, such as the EVOLVE dates on September 11th, November 13th and December 11th. The PWTorch’s report also cited an interview with Ricochet for Highspots called ‘The Future of Flight‘, where he said he would slow down towards the end of this year and take a lighter schedule after such a busy season.
