In today’s WrestleTalk News, WWE legend Chyna passes away, Adam Rose speaks out on his WWE suspension and another longtime Knockout leaves TNA.
Adam Rose Speaks Out On WWE Suspension
Earlier this week it came out that WWE superstars Adam Rose and Konnor of the Ascension had been suspended for sixty days for their second violations of the WWE Wellness Policy.
Well, Rose has now posted a lengthy response to his suspension on Twitter and it’s safe to say that he is not a happy bunny.
In the post, Rose said that both he and his doctor were shocked and appalled by the suspension and that he has done nothing wrong. Rose said that he was taking prescribed medication, but he and his doctor followed all the correct protocols to make sure it was within the rules.
Rose said that he has no anger or animosity towards WWE, but he strongly believes they are mistaken in suspending him and that he didn’t knowingly do anything wrong. Rose appears to have been so emotionally affected by the suspension because of not wanting his two children to think he’s done something wrong, and that his sister “died from complications related to a life-long battle with heroin.”
Despite being an understandable sore point, speaking out so publicly is a risky move for someone like Adam Rose, one which he’s well aware of, saying in the post that his comments are “tantamount to career suicide”.
There’s a bigger story here, though: one that asks the question ‘how legitimate is WWE’s Wellness Policy?’
Many have pointed out that most of the Wellness Policy suspensions over the last few years have been for performers on the lower end of the card.
Over the past three years, the only reported violations and suspensions have been Ricardo Rodriguez, Hornswoggle, Adam Rose and Konnor. Not quite Wrestlemania main eventers, and not people you’d associate with big, burly, steroid-enhanced physiques.
Fans have pointed out that this jars with the lack of any reported suspensions for the WWE’s larger stars – not just in terms of drawing power, but also for physiques.
